SPENNMOOR Town were the happier side at the end of last night's crucial Ebac Northern League First Division clash with leaders Darlington 1883.
The nearest to a goal came when Moor's Gavin Cogden had a shot blocked and although Mark Davison forced the ball over the line, his effort was ruled offside.
Although second-top Spennmoor trail the Quakers by seven points, they have five games in hand. They remain the only unbeaten side and last night's draw was only the third time in 20 games that they have failed to take maximum points.
Dunston UTS were also involved in a goalless draw at Billingham Synthonia.
Dale Burrell and Chris Swailes had half-chances for UTS before Synners finished strongly and almost clinched victory in the 87th minute.
Nathan Jameson's free-kick beat the wall and with goalkeeper Liam Connell rooted to his line, the ball came back off the post. Two goals in the final nine minutes secured victory for Bedlington Terriers over Marske United.
