Arlene Wants to See Her Duo Dance (Though Not Enough to Watch Strictly)

AXED Strictly judge Arlene Phillips today admitted that she has not seen a single episode of this series of Strictly Come Dancing.

But as the show reaches its climax in the final on BBC1 on Saturday, she told how she cannot wait to be reunited with her two favourite dancers Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace when they star in her show in the new year.

Simone, who dances with actress Dani Harmer, and Cacace, whose partner is Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, will compete against each other in the final for the first time.

In just a few weeks the couple, who are professional dance partners and were in an 11-year relationship, reunite in Phillips's show Midnight Tango, which opens at the Phoenix Theatre on January 30.

Phillips, 69, who has been in Toronto since September judging Andrew Lloyd Webber's Canadian musical talent show Over The Rainbow, refused to back a winner for the final and said she hoped it will be the show's first draw. …
