ALCOHOL-fuelled stunts are expected to flood Fraser Coast emergency departments with revellers tonight as the region welcomes 2013.

Hervey Bay Hospital and Maryborough Base Hospital have both been hit by a large number of patients in the Christmas break, with reports of ambulance ramping at Hervey Bay.

An ambulance spokesman said on Friday afternoon one ambulance had been queuing at the hospital for 57 minutes, with another waiting for 13 minutes.

aWeave got six operational ambulances in the Bay and five in Maryborough and the only unit available right now is one in Maryborough,a he said at the time. …
