ANYONE who has read this column for any length of time would probably realise they really need to find more constructive things to do with their time.

Hang on, while probably accurate, thatas not exactly what I started out to say.

Anyone who has read this column for any length of time would probably realise I donat go much on the global warming/climate change stuff.

Itas not that I donat believe the planet warms up every now and then, itas just that I really donat care.

I really couldnat give a gnatas bladder as to what kind of world is left behind when I shuffle off this mortal coil.

My carbon footprint will be the size of a snow shoe and, again, I donat care.

We baby boomers are noted for enjoying ourselves while here on earth, so why should we be bothered about what kind of planet we are leaving for our grandchildren and great-grandchildren?

Stuff aem, I say.

My message for all fellow baby boomers and those older than us, donat let the Gen Ys make you feel guilty.

After all, weave had to adjust to the changing landscape, so should they.

Weave had to put up with their incessant texting, Twittering and Facebooking, not to mention a generation of youth with jeans worn so low itas wall to wall plumberas crack.

For goodness sake, pull your pants up, if only for the few years your elders have left.

No, if, in 50 or 100 years from now, the earth resembles a Mad Max landscape and people are killing each other in the race up Mt Everest in the quest for the last breath of fresh air and the one place left on earth where the climate temperature is under 50 degrees Celsius, why should we care?

We wonat be around to hear the inevitable whining of the by then middle-aged Gen Ys saying, aWhat have you done to us?a

Nah, stuff aem, I say.

The Gen Ys can do then what they do now a Google it. …
