NETBALL: Wide Bay Thundercats players have hit the ground running in a bid to shape up ahead of their 2013 Queensland State Netball League assault.

Nine Thundercats players were feeling the heat on Sunday after participating in a abrutala training workout in Hervey Bay that lasted three hours.

Defender Katrina Tate admits there were many sore and tired bodies afterwards.

aIt was quite brutal,a she said.

aI have experienced that sort of training back when I was in the Air Force so those sorts of drills brought back some memories.

aEven though Iam not that old I did feel it the next day.

aIt was a real eye-opener to where our fitness level is at and who needs to improve.a

The torturous workout was split into two sessions.

The first involved challenging hill and stair drills on the Esplanade near Thomas St, before the team hit the beach to do a variety of workouts including crawling under cargo nets, short sprints and swims. …
