NOT so long ago, we slept in our bedrooms, cooked in our kitchens, ate in our dining rooms. Some of us still do. But increasingly, the demands of technology and of our budgets, are driving a trend already popular overseas Co multipurpose rooms.

Economics are also driving this trend: wanting to avoid a long commute and live close to the inner city means settling for a smaller home, she says.

You cannot find privacy, there is noise, smells of food everywhere Co we have to create nooks and crannies with an open plan area, so we can get privacy; for example to read, while someone is watching TV. …
