Sure, thereCOs Richard Branson, Ray Martin, Kevin Rudd, Pat Rafter, Mark Webber and Bob Ansett who all own property in our beautiful region.

But Harvey Norman chiefs Gerry Harvey and wife Katie Page are perhaps the CoastCOs richest Australian business investors.

Mr HarveyCOs wealth was recently listed at $1.2 billion in 2011, a $685 million drop from his 2007 valuation of $1.85 billion.

The duo opened a new-format suite of stores at the Maroochydore Homemaker Centre in November, and Ms Page, the company CEO, made a personal inspection of the site last month.

She flew in for less than 24 hours to show television and radio media from three states her new Domayne and Harvey Norman stores.

C[pounds sterling]Gerry and I have looked for a big site like this for 15 years,C[yen] she said. C[pounds sterling]We had been in Kawana Waters forever, and it was a great spot, but itCOs not what we do (anymore).

C[pounds sterling]We knew having a homemaker shopping centre, which the Coast hasnCOt got, would work a treat.

C[pounds sterling]ItCOs been a month and itCOs going fantastically well. But Gerry and I always expected it to go well.C[yen]

She said the coupleCOs faith in the Coast as a place to do business never wavered.

C[pounds sterling]We made this decision some time ago and there was never a time we thought that this shouldnCOt go ahead,C[yen] she said.

C[pounds sterling]The Sunshine Coast is a fantastic community and we know this area very well. It is a great part of Queensland.C[yen]
