BACK in the day you wouldnat find Valerie Kearney at the Civic.

In fact the now 49-year-old didnat even visit the new Dawson Hwy cinemas.

So it was surprising when the Gladstone-born local headed to Facebook to voice her concerns about the impending demolition of the iconic Goondoon St structure.

Residents responded well to the post, likening Gladstone Civic Cinemas as a place where people experienced a lot of afirstsa.

From blockbuster movies to kisses and everything in between, the Civic was the go-to place in the a[approximately]80s and a[approximately]90s.
