Danny Urges Cats to Rise Again after Defeat

DANNY ROSE insists Sunderland must not let the loss of their unbeaten run at Reading knock their confidence.

Sunderland's three-game unbeaten streak came to a halt as they went down 2-1 at the weekend.

A return of 16 points from nine games prior to their trip to the Madejski Stadium had lifted Sunderland into mid-table, well clear of the relegation battle raging below.

But their defeat against the Royals has reminded them they are not yet safe - although they still enjoy an eight-point cushion between themselves and the bottom three.

And Rose says the Black Cats need to make this weekend's game against Arsenal at the Stadium of Light the start of a new unbeaten run.

"We've got to think back to what we were doing a few games ago when we were picking up wins like Wigan away and West Ham at home and try to put Arsenal under a lot of pressure," said Rose, who is on loan at Sunderland from the Gunners' North London rivals Spurs. …
