FLOOD victims in Gin Gin are being made to pay or move on from the Gin Gin Society Showgrounds.

Flood victim Bobbie-Joe Schmidt, 25, of Mackay lost everything in the floods and said he was charged $18 a night to stay on at the showgrounds.

But Gin Gin Show Society president Judy Honor said the fee had been $5.

C[pounds sterling]ItCOs very hard how they push you out of the Crisis Centre, I was so scared I didnCOt know what to do or where to go,C[yen] Mr Schmidt said.

Mr Schmidt was charged for an unpowered site at the showgrounds and sought shelter in a tent donated by Lifeline. …
