VOLUNTEER Brian Walter hopes some of the professional talent on display at the City Golf Club will eventually rub off on his game.

Mr Walter is one of 60 volunteers lending a hand during this weekendas Queensland PGA Championship at the City Golf Club.

The twice-weekly social golfer assumes the role of astartera at the first tee, ensuring all players line up and start play at the correct times, and in the correct order.

He has been involved in all four tournaments in Toowoomba.

aI have gotten to know some of the professional players and you welcome them back each year,a the 71-year-old said.

Mr Walter enjoys his four days a year helping at the tournament, as well as watching professional golf players competing.

aIam always open to advice,a Mr Walter said of his golf game.

Mr Walter encourages people to visit the course this weekend. …
