Eight professional players qualified for the team on the chapter tournament points list: Clint Avret, Todd Bork, Spencer Brown, Gerry James, Charles Raulerson, Brad Rollinson, Cary Splane and Tom Stecker. The four captain's selections by Tommy Aycock were Pomeroy, Richie Bryant, Tim Peterson and Broc Nell.

Jon Fine is the alternate. Todd McDonald will be the assistant captain.

Nine players qualified for the amateur team based on a system of accruing points through finishes in area amateur events, plus Florida State Golf Association and United States Golf Association qualifiers and championships. They are David Anthony, Mike Bodney, Jon Bolen, Duke Butler IV, Garcia, John Lobb, Ken Moody, Nate Mosby and Nagy. Captain Billy Varn made three additional selections, Bill Calfee, Steve Carter and Andy Purnell.

Eric Graybeal and Luis Rivera are the alternates. Bodney and Mike Ellison are the assistant captains.

The amateurs have won or retained the Underwood Cup with a tie seven of the last eight years and are 9-4-2 since 1998, when they won for the first time after the professionals went 5-0-1 in the first six years of the competition. …
