Aloud and So Proud

Article excerpt

TEN years ago Girls Aloud were fresh from their debut single reaching top spot in the UK charts.

Who would have thought a decade down the line from The Sound of the Underground, the manufactured reality TV talent show winners would still be selling out arenas? Metro Radio Arena played host to the opening night of their aptly named Ten Tour - and what an opener it was.

Cheryl, Kimberley, Nicola, Sarah and Nadine took us through nearly two hours of non-stop hits with a catalogue of songs proving why they have been such great ambassadors of British pop.

Encore time saw them singing I'll Stand By You - with tears from all and a touching hug between Cheryl and Kimberley.

The Promise ended a truly fabulous night. Tickets are still available for tonight and tomorrow - with the 10 millionth Arena punter in line for a great prize on Saturday.

Here's my good advice - geddit- if you don't have a ticket yet, buy one now!

If this is, as many believe it could be, Girls Aloud's swansong tour, what better way to go than on an ultimate high like this? …
