WHAT if a family trip to the beach could save the lives of forgotten children living in the back streets of some of the most beautiful surf destinations in the world?

How would it feel if taking on the challenge of learning a new skill like surfing was helping a haunted mother out of the depths of post-natal depression?

A group of surfing mums have come up with an idea for Aussies to make a real difference by simply celebrating their love of the sand and surf and registering for the Surfhour Challenge.

People of all surfing abilities are invited to catch waves for a cause alone or in groups for just one hour during March.

Whether it is standing up on a board for the first time, trying out paddle boarding, or setting a goal for the number of waves caught in a certain period of time, no challenge will be considered too great or small.
