A TORMENTED mum has spoken of her hell at the hands of an evil sex abuser, who left her life in pieces.

One of four victims of William Edward Brundle, 63, who molested young girls over a 30-year-period, has spoken out in disgust at the nine-and-a-half year sentence handed to him on Friday.

The Teesside mum, who cannot be named for legal reasons, bravely brought Brundle back before the courts last week, revealing the horrific secret of how he raped her, which she had kept hidden since the age of 14.

She finally found the courage to contact police after Brundle was jailed for six years in October 2011 for eight counts of indecent assault against three pre-teen girls.

Brundle, formerly of Wharton Street, North Skelton, had denied all allegations.

But today, his latest victim told how the 17-month legal process has left her shattered all over again - and her belief Brundle "should have got life" after his crimes came to light.

The devastated mum, now in her 30s, said she was "absolutely furious" Brundle's latest sentence would run concurrently to that he was ordered to serve in October 2011.

She said: "I think it's absolutely poor for what he did to me and those other girls. Potentially, he could be out in six years. To me, that's nothing."

In her teens, the fear nobody would believe her forced her to keep quiet and her idyllic life growing up in a middle class family began to unravel.

She went from being a model pupil to a "monster" who became violent, would drink and was "chucked out of school".

Her mum "didn't recognise her any more," but despite her parents' concerns, she kept the true reason for her out-of-character behaviour hidden.

She said: "I was a grade-A student with ambitions growing up in a middle class family and it just destroyed me.

"I didn't go to university - I didn't even finish school. I've been on drugs and ended up in prison because of drugs."

The articulate mum has also battled self-harm and still suffers mental health problems, which she believes were triggered by the evil deed she suffered at Brundle's hands. …
