Magpies Strong Enough to Cope; Pardew: We're Strong Enough for Double Bid

ALAN PARDEW is confident Newcastle are now strong enough to cope with the challenge of both the Premier League and Europa League.

The season now hits the final straight with 11 games left in the top flight and a two-legged last-16 clash in the Europa League against Anzhi Makhachala, set to determine the mood between now and the end of the campaign.

United are six points above the dropzone and face another important fixture at Swansea City at the weekend.

Pardew says he will field strong sides for BOTH the visit to the Liberty Stadium and then the long trip to Moscow next week to take on Anzhi.

When asked if putting distance between the Magpies and the relegation candidates means that the Magpies are now taking the Europa League more seriously, Pardew told the Chronicle: "People have been saying that to me, and I've never really analysed it.
