MIDDLESBROUGH MONDAY NIGHT CHARITY LEAGUE sponsored By Boro Taxis THIS week was cup tie week, with the Premier League teams playing in the Eddie Fallows Cup which has been played for over 25 years.

The biggest result came from Mick Loughran's Saltersgill A team, who upset league champions Albion A 5-2. It was a huge win for Salty, who had been well beaten 7-1 by Albion a couple of weeks ago.

All of their players rose to a massive challenge, with Rickie Smith, Chris Carter and Gary Fields playing great games.

Inn Off Tens were also up against it in their match with Erimus A, but they upset the odds by running out superb 5-4 winners.

Red Lion had a tough match away to Beechwood but roared to an excellent 5-3 win.

Lion's winners were Dave Siberry, Mike Lord, Paul Boden and Shaun Vickers.

Beechwood's winners were Craig Robinson, John Catterick and Andy Horsefield.

Saltersgill 8s went through by beating arch rivals Saltersgill B 5-4 in a tense match.

Salty B raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to wins from Tot Irvine and Sean Hareland, but unbeaten Scott McClurg and Danny Worthy tied it at 2-2. Eights then went 4-3 up before Gary Mahone levelled proceedings, then Steve Woodier beat Gary Mahon in the deciding frame.

Jovial Monk A team got their first win of the season, defeating Hemlington Social Club 5-4. Peter Kelly led Beacon to a 5-3 win at Longlands Tavern.

SALTERSGILL C got their first win of the season in the Keith Hobbs Cup, defeating Yellow Rose 5-3. Albion B pipped Middlebeck 5-4 and Jovial Monk B won 5-3 at home to Apple Tree.

Monk's winners were Gary McDermott, Tony Brown, Gary Blake, Shaun Price and debutant Simon Conley.

Inn Off The Park 8s made short work of Inn Off The Park A, defeating them 5-1. Legion Club enjoyed a 5-4 win over league leaders Grangetown United Club.

Jovial Monk B beat Saltersgill C 5-3 in the only league match played.

Ryan Larry made a winning debut for Salty C. …
