JUST in case you thought 18 traffic lights werenat enough along an 11km stretch of busy road, the State Government is about to add another.

The arduous, stop-start stretch along Nicklin Way between Caloundra and Maroochydore is about to get worse with another traffic light planned on the corner of Thunderbird Dr and Nicklin Way, in Bokarina.

And Maroochydoreas busy Aerodrome Rd wonat miss out either, with another traffic light also planned at Fourth Ave.

A Transport and Main Roads spokesman said the lights along Nicklin Way were being installed as Thunderbird Dr ais a busy intersection, especially for studentsa.

The lights are opposite one of the entrances to Kawana Waters State College.

The Main Roads spokesman said pedestrian safety would be improved at the Aerodrome Rd and Fourth Ave intersection with the installation of a signalised pedestrian crossing.
