OPMC EXPANDS CARDIAC SERVICES WITH NEW LAB
Orange Park Medical Center has opened an on-site Electrophysiology Lab to complement its cardiac services. The new lab, in the hospital's Heart & Lung Center, aids in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac rhythm management disorders.
In the EP lab, the heart's electrical behaviors are diagnosed with a minimally invasive heart test. New procedures performed at Orange Park Medical Center include complex electrophysiology procedures such as electrical mapping, ablations, and lead extractions.
Conditions treated in the EP lab include heart arrhythmias, palpitations, heart blocks and weakened heart muscle. Treatment options may include implantation of special devices like pacemakers or defibrillators.
