QUEENSLAND units and townhouses have followed the positive lead of the house market, according to the latest REIQ data.

The REIQas December Queensland Market Monitor, released yesterday, showed the numbers of unit and townhouse sales across the State continued the property marketas upward trend compared to the year before.

The numbers of unit and townhouse sales increased 8.9 per cent in the December quarter 2012 compared to the same period in 2011.

In Toowoomba specifically, the numbers of sales were consistent with the quieter December quarter.

The Toowoomba median unit and townhouse price increased two per cent to $260,000 over the quarter.

The median price over the year ending December also increased 1.6%.

Unfortunately, a number of Toowoomba suburbs didnat record enough sales for a reliable median unit price to be calculated this quarter which reflects our smallish, but growing, unit market.

East Toowoomba however posted statistical growth of 25. …
