LOCAL Government Minister David Crisafulli has backed Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamiesonas decision to exclude the two Noosa councillors from non-statutory meetings.

In an interview with ABC Coast FM yesterday morning, Mr Crisafulli said Cr Jamieson was a100% righta in not allowing councillors Russell Green and Tony Wellington access to any meeting that adoesnat concern thema.

aThe Local Government Act says that all councillors have to be invited if it is a statutory meeting and I know that will continue,a he said.

aThat is something that has happened since the dawn of time.

aWhen I was a councillor in my first term, I was the first non-Labor councillor elected in what was a very political council back in those days.

aI was never invited to those meetings beforehand and not once did I growl about it. Thatas the way internal groupings work and that will always be the case.

aI would grumble if I couldnat have been there at the time when a decision was made, but I certainly wouldnat worry about any pre-meeting. …
