SPEEDWAY: Rockhampton drivers Daniel Johnson and Brooke Etherden held their own up against experienced drivers at the Queensland Junior Sedan Titles, in Moranbah.

The weekendCOs race meet attracted some of the best juniors in the state, including Australian champion, 17-year-old Jayden Peacock.

Peacock, from Nambour, recently won the national title and also claimed the South Australian title.

After dominating the field at Moranbah, he added the Queensland honours to his growing list of accolades.

He took out the A-Main feature, made up of 22 drivers, ahead of Patrick Brennan and Matty Smith.

Johnson, who qualified for the A-Main event 10th, finished a creditable 14th, sticking with the leaders for much of the race. Etherden qualified in 18th spot, and finished down the field.

Central QueenslandCOs Aaron Hearn and Judd Porter did not race, while Brandon Atto finished in 10th spot on his home track.

The next Rockhampton Speedway meeting will be on March 23, where the final round for the Formula 500 series will be contested and the AMCA Nationals, Super Stockers, Fender Bender and Juniors will also race. …
