ST PatrickCOs Day is a lucky day for Amber Saunders and Marc Nelson Co itCOs the day they will attend their first race meeting.

Like many other 18-year-olds, who have come of age, Amber and Marc have their outfit shopping done and dusted in preparation for the St PatrickCOs Day Races at Callaghan Park on Saturday.

East Street SheCOs All That owner Laurena Heyes said her shop, which has proved a popular spot for race fashion, has been busy in the lead-up to the big day.

C[pounds sterling]The 18-year-old demographic has been our biggest market for these races,C[yen] Laurena said.

The luck of the Irish has played its hand as clear skies have been forecast.

Catholic Primary Schools from Rockhampton, Gracemere and the Capricorn Coast will join forces this weekend to host a grandstand luncheon on the day to raise money for their schools.

They also want to lend a hand to flood-affected families in Catholic school communities in Bundaberg, Biloela and Monto. …
