Cutters Hoping Surprise Attack Puts Paid to Pride

RUGBY LEAGUE: You could excuse coach Kim Williams for feeling a little nervous this weekend with seven debutants running on for the Skills Training Mackay Cutters against Northern Pride this Saturday.

Add to that the team not winning a pre-season trial match it could be a recipe for disaster against the tough Pride.

But the affable coach laughs off any doubts and rightly points out that of those making their debut tomorrow, one is former Australian Test representative, prop Joel Clinton, and there are several Cowboys players included too.

aWe are a pretty young side and thatas one of our challenges but we have two captains, Joel Clinton and Jardine Bobongie, plus David Milne at the back and between those three theyall provide the leadership thatas required,a he said.

Milne has played 60 games for Canberra and has played at the highest level and been very good at that level.

Williams said heas very happy to have him. …
