Taking Stand on Bullies; Noosa High Takes Action to Help Students

AT one time or another most of us have been there.

That moment when your stomach sinks, your face goes red and the world feels like itas caving in.

Bullying has always been a part of society a a means for perpetrators to feel superior by way of intimidation and preying on people they perceive to be weaker than themselves.

The catastrophic repercussions of bullying have been well documented in recent years, highlighted by the suicides of bullying victims around the world.

Noosa District State High School will raise awareness of bullying and violence today as part of the National Day of Action Against Bullying.

The day supports the notion that schools, parents and students need to build supportive and safe school environments, free from bullying, harassment and violence.

Noosa High School Year 9 co-ordinator Brigid Muir said the day provided students with the opportunity to air grievances about bullying. …
