FOOTBALL: Fraser Coastas finest juniors knew they were in for a test when they signed up to play for new National Premier League club Wide Bay Revolution this year.

But this is one challenge they could never have prepared for.

Some of the Revolutionas young stars will face six Australian Matildas players tomorrow when its under-14 and U15s host a Queensland Academy of Sport girls and senior womenas team in Gympie.

Led by Brisbane Roar W-League coach Belinda Wilson, the QAS senior team will feature a host of Roar W-League players, including Fraser Coast products Brooke Spence (pictured) and Kate Stewart.

Because the QAS does not play in a formal competition the friendly matches are effectively off-season hit outs for the Roar contingent.

Wilson will also be speaking to the Revolution players who will be in action during round two of the competition and congratulating them on choosing the NPL path. …
