THE Kawana Dolphins this season will bear little resem- blance to the all-conquering 2012 squad but there is still cause for optimism, coach Rob Brough says.

While Kawana ran away with the title last year, going through undefeated, winning back-to-back premierships shapes as a tough proposition.

Brough said he expected to be without 10 players from last yearCOs grand final squad, including the spine of hooker Paul Cohen (retired), five-eighth Ben Whiddon (retired), halfback Dan Williams (work) and fullback Arthur Brown (Newcastle local league).

Winger Joey Parvin (Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles), forward Stuart Watt (retired), winger Jordan Morgensen (work), centre Alex Forrest (work) and prop Jason Wardrop (work) will also be absent. Brough said this yearCOs first-grade squad would mostly be filled out by players from the clubCOs 2012 reserve grade squad and premiership-winning under-18 side.
