JOYCE Faulkner keeps herself busy and at 90 shows no sign of slowing down.

With bingo twice a week and meetings for Legacy and Scope, Mrs Faulkner jokingly said it seemed as though she was never home.

A party was held at the Hideaway Restaurant last month to celebrate Mrs FaulknerCOs 90th birthday.

C[pounds sterling]It was a lovely night out,C[yen] she said.

Born on February 28, 1923 as Joyce Black, she was one of nine children.

C[pounds sterling]I was born in Rockhampton and lived in St Lawrence,C[yen] Mrs Faulkner said.

C[pounds sterling]My father worked on the main roads.C[yen]

She finished her schooling before her 14th birthday, and then moved to Sarina.

C[pounds sterling]You had to go out and work,C[yen] she said.

Mrs Faulkner moved in with an aunt and uncle and began cleaning houses.

It was at one of those houses she met her future husband, Jim Faulkner.
