RODEO: RockhamptonCOs Great Western Hotel rodeo arena resembled a battlefield on Friday night, with three Young Guns rodeo riders taken to hospital.

Rockhampton stock owner Brian Duggan had been around rodeo his whole life, but had never seen mayhem quite like what was on display at the Great Western over the weekend.

In what was one of the bloodiest battles to date, Duggan described the Young Guns event as C[pounds sterling]completely hecticC[yen] with young riders Ben Brazier, Alec Howard and another unknown rider taken away in ambulances.

C[pounds sterling]The weekend really had its ups and downs, it was a very rough night on Friday, the bulls were very wild and rough,C[yen] Duggan said.

C[pounds sterling]We had one rider, Ben Brazier, with a compound fracture to his ankle, another rider, Alex Howard with a compound fracture to his jaw, with the bone broken through the skin, and another young fella was stepped on by a bull just under his chin, there was lots of blood and he had to have about 15 stiches, but he was back at the arena on Saturday night. …
