JASON Kubler returns next week to defend his Bundaberg International title, but before the first round of the main draw is played BundabergCOs Luke Gerry will contest the qualifying rounds which starts tomorrow.

This year will be GerryCOs fifth attempt at progressing through the opening weekend in Bundaberg. And after a breakout 2012 where he played in the main draw at the pro-tour event in Bendigo, Gerry says he is confident going into his first match.

GerryCOs preparation has been intense and he said the skills he had gained on and off the court gave him a more all-round game to compete with the best.

C[pounds sterling]I decided this year would be my first full year on the pro circuit. I had been training very hard; I felt a lot more confident and mature,C[yen] Gerry said.

Part of the development of GerryCOs game is the flexibility to play on different surfaces Co and the local knowledge of Drinan Park will hopefully put him ahead of his competition. …
