CRICKET: The Animals club was formed in 2002 and played in the Stanthorpe competition for two years before joining Warwick in 2004.

Club secretary Vicki Kirkland said the club won reserve-grade premierships in 2006-2007 and 2009-2010.

Captain Laurie Wagner will be aiming for his third premiership at Mayhew Oval today. Tony Morrisey, another team original, will be playing today.

The team has had some name changes due to sponsorship changes but has been the Sovereign Animals for four years.

The Animals have a squad of 16 but will be without Robbie Wagner who has Warwick and District Rugby League Chargers possibles and probables games at Clifton on Saturday.

Kirkland said Joe Morris had enjoyed a great season and was one of the clubCOs leading wicket-takers this season.
