CRACKER QUEEN

The Literary Guild of St. Simons Island's "Coffee with the Author" series presents Lauretta Hannon, NPR commentator and author of "The Cracker Queen: A Memoir of a Jagged, Joyful Life," at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Simons Island Casino, 530 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island, Ga. Free for members, $10 for guests.

Starting Sunday, the Mandarin Free Book Exchange is on again at the Ancient Oaks Arts and Farmers Market from noon to 4 p.m. every other Sunday through July at the Mandarin Community Club, 12447 Mandarin Road.

- Jacksonville author Chris Hejmanowski will sign his science fiction novel "Collider" from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mandarin Barnes & Noble, 11112 San Jose Blvd.

- Orange Park author Connie Davies will introduce "Flicks and Tricks," a novel set in the era when Jacksonville was the silent movie capital, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Green Cove Springs Historical Society's Railroad Days, 2915 Walnut St.

The Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library's big warehouse sale behind the University Park Library, 3435 University Blvd. N., continues this week: Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., $10 a bag; Tuesday, 4 to 7 p.m., $10 a bag; Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m., $10 a bag; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., $10 a bag.
