A LATE-in-life love affair with motorcycles ended in tragedy on Monday when Stacey Heydon of Ulmarra died in a crash near Glenreagh, in the Clarence Valley.

Mrs Heydon and her husband Colin were celebrating their 24th wedding anniversary with a ride to the Golden Dog Hotel in Glenreagh.

Her daughter, Amanda Collins, said her parents were just outside Glenreagh when two dogs ran in front of her fatheras bike.

aHe slowed and stopped, but for a reason unknown, Mum didnat stop and ran into the back of Dadas bike, sending him airborne, and herself flying through the air,a she said. aShe died from severe head injuries.

aUnfortunately the ambulance didnat attend the scene until 45 minutes later.a

Mrs Collins said her mother would be sorely missed.

aLife without her will never be the same for the Heydon family and friends, but we can rest in the fact that she died doing what she loved a with the one she loved most a and she wouldnat have wanted it any other way,a she said. …
