I CAN'T imagine Robert Louis Stevenson, one of the greatest literary writers of the 19th century, sitting in his study, thinking the novel he is penning will one day become a Broadway musical that will go on to be performed for over 10 years.

What little imagination he had! It has also just been revived on Broadway and is being made into a film too.

The musical tells of how good and evil s dwell within each of us and if we choose to let evil roam free, danger and havoc await us.

The musical strays quite a bit away from the 1886 classic with completely new additions, so if you are an avid lover of the original text, you may be disappointed.

However, writers Steve Cuden and Frank Wildhorn have managed to turn a gothic horror story about split personalities into a heart-warming love story that highly entertains.

Taking on the lead as both Jekyll and Hyde was Liam Gilbert, performing confidently as both characters although his time on stage as Hyde was slightly stronger. …
