RACING: Gai Waterhouse knows exactly what is needed to win the Group 1 ATC Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) at Randwick tomorrow.

The leading Sydney trainer has won the race six times in the last 10 years, and looks to have one hand on another trophy after accepting with Saturdayas Golden Slipper winner Overreach.

The filly was quoted at $1.60 with Tattsbet yesterday to follow in the footsteps of stablemate Pierro who last year claimed the two-year-old Triple Crown a the Slipper, Sires Produce and the Champagne Stakes.

Waterhouse had originally planned to wait until yesterday before deciding on a start for Overreach, but jockey Tommy Berry said the filly pulled up so well after her emphatic Slipper win that Waterhouse made the call on Monday.

While Waterhouse has a phenomenal record in the race, the same canat be said of fillies or favourites.

The last filly to win was Merlene back in 1996, while favourites have saluted just nine times since 1983. …
