GOLF: In an alternative dimension, Adam Scott is wielding the willow for the Australian cricket team and Matthew Flinders Anglican College acting principal Gerry Price is credited with identifying his prodigious talent with the bat.

In this reality, we can only wonder what could have been.

Scott was a foundation student at Matthew Flinders Anglican College, completing years five through seven at the Buderim school in the early 1990s. Scott attended the school with his sister Casie while his mother Pam ran the uniform shop.

In 1993, he moved with his parents to the Gold Coast where he took up a golfing scholarship.

Price was ScottCOs year 7 physical education teacher and even then the world No.7 showed a talent for every sport he tried his hand at.

When Price arrived at the school in 1992, Scott was already excelling at golf and tennis.

Having witnessed his natural hand-eye coordination, Price tried to convince a 12-year-old Scott to take up cricket.

But he was intent on pursuing a career in golf. …
