Grant Sets Stage for Theatre Refurbishment

MORE than a century ago, GraftonCOs Criterion Theatre began life as a hub of entertainment and community events and it looks as though the show will go on for many years yet, with the theatre receiving a grant of more than $21,000 from the State Government for maintenance and restoration works.

On Friday, Clarence MP Chris Gulaptis announced the theatre, established in 1888 had received the grant through the NSW GovernmentCOs Community Building Partnership program.

Theatre member Dave Mackey said the money was very welcome and would be put to good use.
