Sharks Grab Two Wins; Whitsunday Downs Panthers, Thundercats

NETBALL: The Whitsunday Sharks have two wins under their belt after they powered through round four of the Mission Queensland State Netball League at Rockhampton on the weekend.

The Sharks defeated the Wide Bay Thundercats 37-33 and Darling Downs Panthers 56-34.

Goalkeeper Jess Seymour was the star player of the weekendas games, according to Sharks manager Lyn Law.

Ms Seymour said they were tough teams and she faced an opponent that was taller than her in the first game.

aIt is kind of scary,a Seymour said. aThe other team were tall and they were using a lot of lob passing from the centre third. My job was to stop that from happening.a

Accurate shooting from their opponents meant the Sharks had to work hard to get the ball.

When that happened, Seymour said, ayou have to change your game a lota.

Having an open mind helped them secure the wins, she said.

aWe just wanted to play our game more than anything, not to have a strategy. …
