LISMORE golfer Sam Brazel has drawn plenty of inspiration from Adam Scott becoming the first Aust-ralian to win the US Masters.

Brazel, 34, turned professional in 2002 and is playing his first year on the Asian Tour.

And when Scott was sinking the winning birdie in a play-off last week, Brazel missed seeing it because he was on a flight home from an event in the Philippines.

aI was on the plane but I was still nervous even when I was watching it on replay,a Brazel said.

aIt was a great moment in the sport and hopefully it will inspire the next generation of Australian golfers.

aAustralian golf has been lacking a major champion in recent years and the Scott win is a great motivator for young golfers coming through.

aItas a real buzz to see an Aussie win and definitely an inspiration.a

Brazel has played in five tournaments on the Asian Tour and has made the cut in four of them.

His best result was in the Solaire Open in the Philippines where he finished equal 13th. …
