THE FAR North Coast under-17 rugby union team will have a distinct Clarence Valley feel when it lines up in the country championships at Moree this weekend.

Twelve local players will be making the trip, as three junior Buccaneers make their zone debuts.

Graftonas Tony King and Jim McPherson will accompany the side as coach and trainer, with Yambaas Bob Thompson taking on the role of manager.

King, who doubles as selector, said it was great to see the large number of quality junior players.

John King, Ryan Cotten, Nathan McPherson, Austin Cooper, Bryce Rankin, Matt Bertalli, Jake Harris, Gyles Cullen and Isaac Creagh all come from the Redmen, while Max Bishop, Tom Stanford and DJ Williams are junior Buccaneers. …
