OF ALL the creative industries out there, advertising is without doubt one of the best.

Some of the top brains are being paid hefty sums to create a jazzy slogan in order for us a the general public a to part with our hard-earned cash for the next gizmo or flashy product.

Iam not usually one to fall for the marketing spiel, but recently I gave in ... and bought a Jeep.

Yep, we bought a Jeep.

We were looking for a car that was not just easy on the gas but would also be reliable enough for us not to get fleeced when taking it in for a service.

So what did we end up with? A soft-top tank which guzzles the gas more than a Boeing 747.

After moving to these shores we always said we would get a soft-top to enjoy Queenslandas weather a itas the Sunshine State, you know?

But did anyone tell us of floods, storms, hail the size of golf balls or lightning strikes? No, funnily enough they did not mention that in the Jeep advert.

Despite the fact the soft-top takes an age to take down and put back up, sounds and looks like a rhino and drinks more than Charlie Sheen on a Wednesday morning, we were pleased with our purchase. …
