THEREaS nothing like a girlsa weekend with a couple of twigs to remind you why you are trying to lose weight.

Last weekend I caught up with some girlfriends for a beach weekend. I have been friends with these lovely ladies since our kindy and preschool days and growing up we were always about the same size.

There was plenty of clothes swapping going on in our teens and early 20s. These days I wouldnat be able to slide a pair of their pants over my calf; they seem to have gotten skinnier, while me, well, you know the story.

Thatas not to say things havenat been going well.

After a great couple of weeks of eating well and working out, I decided to step on the scales.

I was really nervous. I was sure I had lost a few kilos because my clothes were fitting better, but I knew I would be really disappointed if the scales didnat reflect that. …
