ST PETER Claver College has regained the bragging rights in the battle of the Ipswich schoolboys rugby league heavyweights.

SPCC beat Redbank Plains State High SchoolCOs firsts 22-18 last week in round two of the Gee Shield.

Last year it was RPSH who beat SPCC on their way to the Gee Shield final, mounting a claim to being the premier rugby league school in Ipswich.

But the boys from Redbank Plains may have been believed in their own hype, as complacency got the better of them.

SPCC led 18-4 before a late rally from RPSH made for a tight finish.
