Operation Flood Relief Over Clarence Valley by the RAAF

Aircraft of the Royal Australian Air Force flew on mercy missions and dropped food and medical supplies to stranded families and tons of fodder to starving stock in a series on non-stop flights yesterday over the Mid and Lower Clarence. They comprised two helicopters operating from the Grafton racecourse and three Dakotas and Hercules based on the aerodrome.

Forty-five tons of fodder brought in from Tamworth in the Hercules was dropped to starving stock. It was mainly carried in the Dakota aircraft, loading 66 bales or about two tons each flight.
