HARRISON Browning says he is capable of kicking into another gear after soaring to new heights at the National BMX Championships in Brisbane.

In a dramatic final, which saw three national plate holders crash, Browning, who started on the outside, managed to avoid the carnage and went on to claim his first national plate at the Sleeman Sports Complex at Chandler .

The Maryborough BMX Club member finished fourth in the 11 years boys final, while fellow club member Alyssa Cherrie became a dual national plate holder after coming seventh in nine-year girls and fourth in the 8-10 years girl cruiser finals.

aIt was scary,a Browning described his final run.

aI was just going my hardest, even with people crashing in front of me, no matter what I was going flat out and it took a lot of effort to get 4A.

aIt meant a lot because last year I wasnat able to go and in 2011 I only made the semis. …
