THE harsh reality of playing in the Queensland Basketball League hit home for the Bundaberg Bears and Bulls at WIN Stadium Friday night when both teams suffered defeats to Gladstone.

A flying start by the Gladstone women made way for an 89-69 Bears loss and in one of the best games in recent times, the Bulls went down 94-88.

After being behind by as much as 10 points, the Bulls rallied to close the gap and with plenty of key statistical areas close, the Bulls were close to pulling off an upset.

Again it was the big three names for the Bulls. In a tireless effort Zarryon Fereti and Will Shackleford each spent 40 minutes on court and Rodrick Stewart 37 minutes.

In any other game FeretiCOs 21 points and StewartCOs 32 points would have seen them take top billing, but ShacklefordCOs 17 points and 19 rebounds ensured his game will be remembered.

Out of the Bulls 40 rebounds Shackleford pulled down 19 to again prove his defensive power. …
