BLACK Springs golfer Michael Dunn is akilling thema in regional opens.

Dunn, a plus two handicapper, has already won the first three opens at Glenden, Collinsville and Bowen, and doesnat intend to stop soon.

aThe North Queensland, Mackay, Black Springs and Pioneer Valley opens are all coming up in the next three months,a he said.

Dunn says his success so far probably stems from him being able to take time to practise and play golf due to his seasonal occupation working on his fatheras farm, which is next to the Black Springs club at Bakers Creek.

aDuring the crushing I canat play as much and the golf suffers,a he said.

aIave been doing well this year, and probably this is the first time Iave really thought about turning professional,a he said.

aI can go to qualifying school at Melbourne at the end of the year and get my qualification as a touring pro.

aI may try to play in the Mackay pro-am as an amateur to see how I compare to some of the pros. …
