THE craze started with ITV's The Only Way is Essex which was hotly followed by its moderately upmarket rival, E4's Made in Chelsea.

But now south London could be given the "constructed reality" treatment in the form of a new series called Made in Brixton.

A production company is auditioning for 20 to 25-year-olds from Brixton to take part in a new reality show that claims to offer a "glimpse at real life below the river".

In an advert for the show, it says television crews will follow the lives of the group "taking a more down to earth, comical and lighthearted look at the daily struggle of our characters than other reality shows today".

But while the advert refers to it as a "reality" show, it would appear that it is not quite what it seems.

Unlike TOWIE and Made in Chelsea, where participants play themselves, the advert on jobs website Casting Call Pro shows a list of 10 names of characters -- five male and five female -- to audition for. …
