There Is Nothing We Are Afraid to Tackle; Matthew Wright Has Spent 12 Years Hosting Daily Topical Discussion Show the Wright Stuff. Here He Discusses the Show, His Favourite Interviewee and His Career Highlights

Article excerpt

THE WRIGHT STUFF HAS BEEN ON AIR SINCE 2000, DO YOU EVER WORRY ABOUT RUNNING OUT OF SUBJECTS TO DISCUSS? Of course not - we''re a news-based show and we''ve never run out of news, have we? If good issues are ever in short supply, then I just ask questions that me or the team are worried about.

One of the team was about to go on holiday with her partner and another couple but sadly this other pair broke up.

I''ve experienced first-hand things like a Twitter backlash, even though I don''t do Twitter myself. For some reason, if a lot of people disapprove of something on Twitter, then everyone has to apologise and beg their forgiveness. And yet in my experience, most of those complaining had never heard or seen what it is RIVAL...

SHOW? Kyle. I break.

revels in you''re supposed to have done wrong.

YOU''RE KNOWN FOR BEING PASSIONATE ABOUT MUSIC. WHAT WAS THE LAST GIG YOU WENT TO? The last gig I went to was to see a Canadian tribute band, Musical Box, who perform the music of Genesis when Peter Gabriel was in the band.

They did the whole of Genesis' ' Lamb Lies Down On Broadway album. It was superb, if a little weird because these guys are note perfect. It''s like listening to a CD, which is not necessarily how a gig should be.

YOU''VE INTERVIEWED SOME AMAZING STARS OVER THE YEARS, BUT WHO IS THE MOST MEMORABLE AND WHY? …
