Men of Ipswich, Time to Suit Up; Dona[euro][TM]t Let Girls Win the Cup Fashion Stakes on June 15

Article excerpt

ITaS less than three weeks to go until the biggest day of the year a no, not Christmas Day; not the day that England retains the Ashes (again) a but Ipswich Cup Day. This is our cityas number one social and sporting event of the year.

So who out there has sorted what you are wearing on the big day? Actually, let me rephrase that. We all know the girls will have their frocks, heels, hair and hats sorted already, so which of you guys are ready? None of you? Of course not. Itas three weeks away, ask me three hours before, I hear you reply.

The thing is when it comes to the big race days, the girls always win in the fashion stakes. And boy, donat they scrub up well?

Guys weave got to take a stand and weave got to out-glam the girls on June 15. And how are we going to do this? Well follow these top tips and we may have a chance...

Get to the shops

Gentlemen, that new suit or shirt ainat gonna buy itself. We have three weeks so if you canat bear to hit the high street next weekend, you do you have another one free.

And guys, no Target, Best and Less or Kmart. If you are going to the Cup as a single man, which lady is gonna be impressed by some cheap garment? Think of your spending as an investment...

Smart or casual?

A good-looking suit has never gone out of fashion. But what has gone out of fashion is a suit that doesnat fit. It may be time to get to the tailors.

If you are going casual, then jeans are a no-no. Remember, weare trying to out-glam the girls and a pair of Levis ainat gonna cut it a unless itas Scarlett Johansson wearing aem.

Jazz up the outfit

If you are buying a new suit, why not go for a matching waistcoat as well? Because if you do meet the girl of your dreams and it gets cold, you can offer your jacket and still look smart and stay warm.

For ties, I say be bold. Grey suit, grey waistcoat and bold tie with a splash of colour. Red is always good, as is purple. But donat even think of wearing that Goofy or Homer Simpson tie you got for Christmas. Sorry kids, itad be fashion suicide.

How jazzy then? When I say jazz up the outfit, I mean be subtle. Ryan Gosling is pictured in a suit with sparkle, and overall it looks good. …
